Phonemic Awareness- Blending sounds in words, rhyming words
Phonics Sounds- y, k, v, and the short e sound as in elephant
Comprehension- Reality and Fantasy, (Reality is something that COULD really happen, and Fantasy is something fake that could not happen.)
Comparing the Text (Meaning the story) to Self (Meaning something in the child’s life), Text to Text comparisons.
Ask your child to find the pages in the story that you are reading that prove that the story is either Reality or Fantasy.
